Ingredients

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups semisweet chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Cream butter until fluffy.
  2. Add the sugars.
  3. Beat until light and fluffy.
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, salt and baking soda.
  5. Add to the butter/sugar at low speed until just combined.
  6. Add vanilla extract.
  7. Beat on medium, until blended. Do not overmix.
  8. Add chocolate chunks.
  9. Refrigerate until cold.
  10. Preheat to 350°.
  11. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  12. Drop heaping spoonfuls of batter onto parchment paper
  13. Bake until golden brown around edges and soft but not bubbly, about 12 minutes.

Makes 36 - 72 cookies.
